6 Tips To Keep Your Skin Hydrated This Summer

Skincare is an important ritual and routine that needs to be upheld during the entire year. With the change of seasons comes the change in the skincare routine, the suitable products and the entire approach. Summer is a season that just like the winter, puts a huge stretch on our skin, especially when it comes to hydration and moisturizing.

The high temperatures, the hot weather, and the UV sunrays contribute to additional drying of the skin that can not only damage the outer layer of the skin but also reflect deeper. That is why, keeping the skin hydrated during the summertime is more than essential, and the skincare routine needs to be adapted towards it.

Here are 6 easy tips which will help you achieve the best skin hydration during the summertime:

Cleanse and exfoliate

Try to cleanse your face twice a day, and scrub your skin two to three times a week. It will help you get rid of dirt and grime that might have piled up in the pores. This way, the skin will benefit even more from moisturizing because the pores will be clean.

Our body loses a lot of moisture during the summertime, so it is essential to hydrate it even more. The experts suggest drinking 10-12 glasses of water and increase the fruit intake. Besides this, balanced skin moisture can be achieved by following the ritual of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing at night, before going to bed.

Wear sunscreen

Wearing sunscreen during the summertime is essential. It helps in shielding the skin from the harmful UV radiations that can cause premature skin aging.

Stay low on the makeup

To protect the skin’s natural glow and radiance, it is best to stay low on the makeup during the summertime and avoid heavy makeup. Always clean the skin before going to bed, which will prevent acne breakouts and skin irritations.

Use soothing ingredients

A good way to keep the skin on the face fresh and moisturizes is to use hydrating ingredients like tomatoes. They are great antioxidants, which add to keeping the hydration levels well balanced.

DIY face masks

DIY face masks are another great option for keeping the skin hydrated during the summer. For example, milk, honey, and oatmeal are a great mix for hydrated skin.

For me SPF has been a huge game changer! I’ve spent my 20s getting baked in the sun like it was my job, every summer I would have a super dark tan and my skin is now proof of that. I have deep lines on my cleavage that refuse to go away even after three laser treatments. Now I lather myself in SPF and I always have it in spray form when I’m out so I can reapply it over my makeup.
